Planning your wedding begins the crazy journey! Where is the first place you start? The internet. Well, don’t believe everything you see or read online. Of course, everyone wants to show off the best parts of the best day of their lives, but they’ll neglect to show you the hard days and long hours you’ll have to put in to make your wedding day as seamless as possible. So, however you may be feeling right now, rest assured that every other couple is feeling the exact same way. And if you need someone to go through it with, sit back, make yourself a cup of tea, and let us tell you just how to cope.
What doesn’t the media show you about wedding planning? The list would be shorter if you asked us what the media does show. The media portrays pictures of the beautiful flowers you get to choose, the copious amounts of cake you get to try, and the grand venues that you have at your demand. But how do you get to that point in planning? Where can you find these vendors and venues? Where do you find all the time to do the research? That is the part that the media neglects to go over. That is why we are here!
Just like anything else, wedding planning requires A LOT of homework. To have the most successful wedding, you must be willing to buckle down and do all the research, OR if it’s in your budget, to have someone do it for you! (Shameless plug: Wish Wonder Dream, hehe.)
Planning a wedding is not as easy as it may seem. As mentioned above, a lot of things go on behind the scenes that the media does not show. When looking through Pinterest boards and Instagram feeds, we see all these whimsical and magical ideas, but how is it REALLY going to get done? Don’t get us wrong, making your day look like those pictures is totally possible, however, it never seems to go as planned. Different vendors and caterers may not always see your vision like you see you vision, and that is something that real life wedding planners have to deal with. We deal with all the moments leading up to those envious pictures and posts.
So how does this affect you and your wedding planning? We want to make sure you don’t get too caught up in the beautiful pictures on Instagram and really focus on the process. Your wedding will look just as beautiful as that picture (if not even more beautiful) but you have to be willing to put in the work and effort to create the beautiful picture. We want to make sure you know that those beautiful moments will take work and dedication, however, they will lead to a wondrous and amazing night. Keep your eyes peeled for those Pinterest boards and remember things may not always be what they seem!
