Whitney Wing Drake

Born and raised in Southern California, Whitney likes to joke that she never had a choice but to be an event planner. Her parents had owned art galleries for 10 years before she was even born. She spent her childhood helping her mom plan & execute art release parties, artist signings, etc.

Whitney’s professional background is in corporate events, where she has been employed by Pacific Theatres, and most notably by Arclight Cinemas, where she was part of the startup team at the flagship location in Hollywood, CA. There she was involved in planning and executing movie premieres, private screenings, press events, etc. Whitney also worked closely with the head of Marketing at Paramount Pictures and won a National Prize for one of the promotional events she coordinated. After planning her own wedding in 2007, Whitney realized her passion for private events and thus made the transition from corporate. Upon completion of her degree at UCLA (in Philosophy, with an emphasis in Ethics) Whitney launched Wish Wonder Dream. Today, she is incredibly proud of the company it has become.

Studio Manager

Nickname(s):

Whit, Whoney, Wish Wonder Whitney

Wedding Coordinators wear so many different hats and I feel that makes this job inspiring and exciting. I LOVE a good plan (and I’m teased regularly for planning too far ahead), I am fairly organized, I adore working closely with couples (no fluffy small talk for me - I go deep), I also love getting to be creative, and I thoroughly enjoy leading a team and being proactive about setting and accomplishing goals.

Style Inspiration:

Audrey Hepburn is my only and only. She stole my heart in My Fair Lady when I was 10, with all her beautiful dresses and graceful elegance, and I looked up to her style (and her humanitarian efforts) on and off the screen ever since.

Laura Seguin

Born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, and then in Memphis, Tennessee, Laura from a young age has known the true meaning of Southern hospitality.

In college, Laura’s focus was primarily in marketing and advertising, but she found her true calling in early 2011, when she began working in the vivacious and fast-paced world of events. Laura joined the team at the Viceroy Hotel Group where she was in banquet staffing, bartending, and sales. She then continued her catering career by joining the team at Truly Yours Catering. Her career next led her to become the Event Sales Manager at Maggiano’s Little Italy.

Over the years, forming meaningful and lasting relationships with clients came to the forefront of Laura’s life and career goals. And as such, Laura found herself especially drawn to the magic of wedding coordination. Laura joined the team at Wish Wonder Dream in early 2015, and every day she’s able to let her passion and creativity take flight, working with a team of fellow wedding organizers and a roster of clients she considers her friends.

Cat Nguyen

Born in Orange County and raised in a nurturing family of six, Cat grew up watching her entire family pursue vastly creative careers. Her parents explored their creativity through cuisine while her two older sisters explored fashion design and arts and journalism respectively. Her baby brother, on the other hand, put his heart and soul into dance. She came to realize that she had an innate interest in the arts and that all of what her family loves–food, design, storytelling, music–she loves too. And it just so happened that wedding planning allowed her to incorporate all of these elements while giving her the creative freedom she yearned for.

Cat earned her Bachelors of Science in Business Management with a minor in Communications from CSULB which means not only does she know how to work with people but she also loves to work with people. As an empath, she makes it a goal to get to know everyone she meets along the journey and all the people who she is fortunate enough to work with so that she understands their goals, their vision, and their dreams more clearly.

I could think of so many reasons why I decided to become a wedding coordinator but one of the first things that came to mind when prompted by this question is the fact that I have the beautiful opportunities of building relationships with new people on the daily whether that be my clients, vendors, on-site coordinators, parents, siblings, family members, close friends and relatives. Being a wedding coordinator fulfills me because I have been a hopeful romantic ever since I was five years old. Seeing a wedding day come to fruition is a feeling I simply cannot put into words.

Samantha Gianukakis

Born and raised in Washington State, Samantha has had a love for love since she can remember.

A strong work ethic, kindness, and having a “servant heart” are all qualities she embraced from her father who is a restaurant owner in the Pacific Northwest. Her passion for all wedding and love related events bloomed after working in her first years of college as a server and majoring in Communication Studies. This is when she discovered that all of her regular customers were couples and that she was learning the inner workings of relationships, and how to communicate effectively with others with her degree. Along with adding her creative and design-obsessed gene from her mother, this became the perfect marriage of all aspects to be a wedding planner.

Samantha desired to have a well-rounded experience in the wedding world. She worked in various wedding fields of wedding coordination, social media, florals, invitations, bridal gowns, and suits, which has ultimately led her to join the team of Wish Wonder Dream. Now, her passion for learning all the unique qualities of a couple and wholehearted attention to detail is thriving!

Aubrey Miller

Born and raised in Southern California, Aubrey grew up constantly laughing with her comedic family and being surrounded by her many pets, which she often describes as her “personal zoo”. Dance was a tremendous part of Aubrey’s childhood where she spent most of her days in a studio training in tap, ballet and jazz. Since a young age she has taken advantage of living near the Happiest Place on Earth, and admits that her mother would take her to Disneyland so often as a young girl, that the princesses knew her by name!

She graduated from California State University, Fullerton in 2016 with her Bachelor’s degree in Business and a concentration in Marketing. Her first job before entering college was working at an outdoor kids camp where she built forts from plywood with hammers and nails! She laughs about it now but it was definitely a hot and laborious summer for her and entirely out of her comfort zone! She also worked as a stylist at Nordstrom in the Women’s Active and Swimwear department. Her favorite part was working with customers and helping them till they were delighted with their experience.

On her days off you will often find her sporting ath-leisure apparel and trying to stay active through activities such as hiking, hot yoga, and strength training. Contrary to this, Aubrey loves trying new restaurants and eating delicious food! A perfect day to her consists of being on the beach, soaking up the sun while listening to her favorite music.

Aubrey has always considered herself naturally enthusiastic when it comes to planning out details for an event. Anytime there is a birthday or even the smallest holiday, she will decorate her heart out and try to make the day as special as possible! To this day she still takes pride in putting together extravagant “prom-posals” for her brother to surprise his date with while he was in high school, which even included coordinating the lights, music, signs and everything in between!

Being raised on Disney movies led her to become a hopeless romantic. So, being able to express her creativity to loving couples is a dream come true!

Karen Nguyen

Born and raised in Orange County, Karen grew up as the youngest and the only girl to two amazingly supportive parents and two older brothers who devoted their time to music and tech. She graduated University of California, Irvine and earned her degrees in Communications and Business Management. During her college life, Karen worked full-time for an events company where her love for events and weddings flourished. With each successful event came validation that her passion is in planning and that’s what she is meant to do.

She is a firm believer in building relationships that last, so what better industry to be in than wedding planning? Karen sets out to build a strong foundation with everyone she has the privilege of working with to assure them that, so long as she is on this journey with them, their dreams are her dreams — and that those dreams will come true for their big day. When she isn’t wedding planning, Karen spends her time pampering her Pomeranian or seeking out new restaurants and food to try! She will try everything twice — once to see whether or not she likes it, twice to make sure.
